Our Mission Statement

Westside Dental Center exists to allow God to exercise our team members’ life designs including talents and spiritual gifts for the benefit of our patients to achieve superior oral health. Our vision for this dental practice is to provide the highest quality of dental treatment and dental patient education while providing the best customer service for our patients. Our team respects each other and our patients by choosing to work together to achieve our patients’ dental goals as well as being committed to taking responsibility to stay up to date with the latest proven technical skills and technology of dentistry. Finally, our practice is made of a group of people who choose to be an example of a team committed to honoring God in our work.

Dr. John A. Shuffield, DDS

Dr. Shuffield graduated from the University of Tennessee Dental School in Memphis in 1995 where he received a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. He has also completed the total course of training at The Pankey Institute. As a Pankey trained dentist, Dr. Shuffield has been taught how to treat his patients as individuals, how to do complete examinations, how to take enough time to listen and answer questions fully, and how to create a practice that reflects his own personal values.  Optimal care is the goal of Pankey-trained dentist, and this creates long-lasting comfort, function and naturally beautiful teeth. Dr. Shuffield  is also a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) as well as the Arkansas State Dental Association (ASDA) and participates in various study clubs where he continues to update his knowledge base regarding the practice of dentistry in the 21st century. Dr. Shuffield and his wife Pam of 26 years, have 3 sons and when he is not in the office, he enjoys time with his family, playing golf and duck hunting.

Sharon Dinwiddie

Sharon has worked with Dr. Shuffield as a Registered Dental Assistant since 2002. Before working in this office, she worked for Dr. Shuffield’s Father in his orthodontic practice for 25 years. Sharon and her husband Steve have two married sons and one precious grandchild and one on the way. Sharon lives in Hot Springs and attends Lakepoint Church. In their free time, Sharon and Steve enjoy time at the lake as well as traveling to spend time with their sons and their families.

Wanda Spigner

Wanda is  a native of Mississippi. She and her husband, Phil, moved to Little Rock in 1990 when he became Associate Pastor at Immanuel Baptist Church. Wanda joined Dr. Shuffield’s team in 1999 and has served as the front desk coordinator since that time. Wanda and Phil have two married sons and 3 grandchildren with another on the way. She enjoys getting to know our patients and serving them.  In her free time, Wanda spends time with family, friends, and serving at Immanuel and in her community.

Michelle Tully

Michelle grew up in Benton, AR and graduated from Eastern College of Health Vocations in Little Rock. She has worked for Dr. Shuffield since 2008 as a Registered Dental Assistant. Michelle and her husband, Chris, have two sons and one daughter. Michelle enjoys canning, crafting, raising chickens and worshiping with her church family at East Side Baptist Church.

Christi Starrett

Christi graduated from UAMS Dental Hygiene School in 1996. Christi and her husband, Burt,  have three children, one attending UCA and twins attending ASU.  She has worked as a dental hygienist since 1996 and she has been on our team since 2007. Christi enjoys time with friends and family, relaxing vacations at the beach and teaching zumba.

Pam Shuffield

Pam grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Baylor University where she met John and then married in 1989. Pam and John  have 3 sons, two attending the University of Arkansas and one at Little Rock Christian Academy. She shares the Front Desk responsibilities with Wanda and also serves as the Office Manager.  Pam enjoys spending time with family and friends at the lake, beach and anywhere they gather.
